List Serves for Pre-Professional and Pre-Graduate Information

In order to maximize the amount and quality of information delivered to students, Advising Services has created two e-mail list servers. These lists will contain information about workshops, information days, deadlines, and other relevant data. We will also use the list to publicize information and opportunities from graduate programs outside of UC Davis. Occasionally, the office is contacted about employment and internship opportunities that relate to graduate school preparation.

The first list serve, "pre-gradadvising," is primarily for UC Davis undergraduates who are thinking of attending Master's or Ph. D. programs after receiving their bachelor's degree.

The second list serve, "preteachadvising," is primarily for UC Davis undergraduates who are thinking of getting a teaching credential after receiving heir bachelor's degree.

Once you subscribe, you will remain on the list until your UC Davis e-mail address is no longer active. Therefore, you will need to "unsubscribe" if you no longer wish to remain on the list serve.

To subscribe to either or both lists, send an e-mail to: listproc@ucdavis.edu. The body of the message should consist of a single line formatted as follows:

   sub <list name> <first name> <last name>

So, if Joe User wanted to subscribe to the list called "pre-gradadvising," he would send this message to listproc@ucdavis.edu:

   sub pre-gradadvising Joe User

If you want to unsubscribe from a list, send an e-mail to listproc@ucdavis.edu with a body like this:

   unsub <listname> or signoff <listname>

For student wanting pre-health or pre-law information, send an e-mail message as follows:
To: listproc@ucdavis.edu
Subject: (leave blank)
Body: subscribe prehealth-events [your name goes here -- no brackets]
OR
subscribe pre-law-advisor [your name goes here -- no brackets]

PLEASE NOTE: this list will be active for each academic year and will be purged on June 30 of that year; you must sign up to receive these messages each year!
