My research focuses on food justice and urban agriculture education. I am especially interested in how these topics intersect with anti-oppression principles and activism. My dissertation work involves a growing case study of Dig Deep Farms & Produce, coordinating the East Bay Urban Farmer Field School, and the roles of collaboration and researcher reflexivity in food justice research. I am also involved in the Food Dignity Project, a national research project tracking five communities’ efforts to build local sustainable food systems. I completed a M.S. in Community Development at UC Davis. My thesis addressed place-based values for food justice work at Dig Deep Farms & Produce.
